What places did you live as a military child?
I was born on a military hospital in Frankfurt. My dad was in the military in Germany for a decade, and my mother taught students on the base. That is where my passion for languages and travel began.
What did you learn growing up a military child?
My family is small, and my dad's fellow service members are still his closest friends. His best friend served across the hall from him in Germany for a decade, and that friend, Blake, is my godfather. So, I learned that the military is your family. My dad is still close with his military brothers after 50 years.
